Frequently Asked Questions
Why "Multiethnic"?
As a chapter, we are passionate about serving students and faculty of every ethnicity and culture. As a diverse school, a place where many different people from many different places gather, we are encouraged by the ways that we can learn and grow from each other while exploring who God is.
You have "Varsity" as a part of your name- Are you a sports team/ sports related?
We are not a sports team though our chapter happily includes people who train for Boston marathons and people who train for Netflix marathons.
Do I have to be a Christian?
Nope! Whether you are currently pursuing a relationship with Christ or are still exploring spirituality, IVME is a space where all are welcome to come together to explore who God is and His purposes for the world.
How do I get involved?
There are several ways to get involved in IVME. Check our events page for details and upcoming events. Contact our missional leaders if you are interested in leadership opportunities or if you would like to partner with IVME. If you would like to directly contact someone, please go to the contact us page.
We will be at SPLASH, the university-wide student activities fair on Saturday September 7 on Nickerson Field. Please stop by our booth to talk to our current members and sign up for our email list.
IVME meets in both small and large group settings throughout the week. Come visit us at Friday Fellowship on Fridays for worship and to hear the word of God in a new light. Throughout the week, we have several different Community Groups where you can have the chance to learn about the Bible, eat delicious food, take a study break, and make new friends during the week. Then we provide spaces of worship through musical worship and prayer.
What sort of events do you guys do?
We run all sorts of events throughout the year, so be sure to keep checking this page and our instagram (@buivme) for more information. Our instagram is a great way to get information about all things IV, including more casual things like spontaneous weekend adventures to local attractions or study parties in the GSU (George Sherman Union). Also you can join our chapter GroupMe.
In addition to our weekly Friday Fellowships and community group meetings, our special annual events include retreats at the GORGEOUS Toah Nipi campsite in New Hampshire (during the fall and winter) and service opportunities.
